Fractal Memories N.4

2014 | VIDEO LOOP 2:35' | VARIABLE DIMENSIONS |
COLLABORATION WITH ARTIST YURI TUMA

Fractal Memories is an ongoing project that investigates memory as a dynamic system governed by repetitive processes and feedback loops through fractal-like geometric compositions that contain fragments of found home movies.

Recursive geometric patterns are traced with tape onto large surfaces to create shapes that function as containers for deconstructed archival footage.

Each composition contains a different memory and the video projected is mapped onto the different fragments of the fractal pattern, creating a sense of depth and volume. For this particular piece, I collaborated with artist Yuri Tuma, using one of his compositions as a canvas for the editing and projection of the video.
