Fractal Memories N.3

2014 | VIDEO INSTALLATION: PROJECTION MAPPING OF FOUND SUPER8 HOME MOVIES ON LASER-CUT PANES | VARIABLE DIMENSIONS

Fractal Memories is an ongoing project that investigates memory as a dynamic system governed by repetitive processes and feedback loops through fractal-like geometric compositions that contain fragments of found home movies.

Recursive geometric patterns are traced with tape onto large surfaces

to create shapes that function as containers for deconstructed archival footage.

Each composition contains a different memory and the video projected is mapped onto the different fragments of the fractal pattern, creating a sense of depth and volume.
